Inventions Named After Their Inventor
Adam Bradshaw is
the famous foreigner teacher. His TV programs are in many channels in Thailand.
The breakdown is one of those programs. It is available on modern nine TV at
16:05 pm. Today, Adam suggested about “Inventions Named after Their Inventor”.
In What's Happen in'
section, Adam let me know about inventions named after their inventor. The
first person is Jules Leotard. He was born in 1842s. He was a trapeze artist
who performed in a one-piece knitted suit that cover his torso but left his
legs free. These suits are now known as “Leotard” and are used by acrobats,
gymnasts, dancers and figure skaters. Then, the diesel engine was invented by
Rudolf Diesel in late 1800s. The high efficiency and simplicity of Diesel’s
design made it a tremendous success and brought great financial rewards to the
inventor. After that, John Montagu, the fourth earl of Sandwich, was a
political figure in 18-century Britain. He was a big gambler who spent hours
upon hours in casinos. In order to fuel himself while gambling, he created a
handy handheld meal that we now call “sandwich”.
Summary, there are 3 things that I have learned from inventor such as
Leotard, Diesel and sandwich. Likewise, I can learn lots of knowledge. It helps
me to know vocabularies with interesting and pay attention to practice skills.
I think it can motivate audience to interesting in the English lesson with the history of inventors. It effects to learning process of audiences to memorize longer information when they learn with fun.
